What Does Control Readiness Mean?

Cyber-insurance applications often ask organizations to describe cybersecurity practices such as multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, backups, patching, email security, privileged access, monitoring, incident response, and employee awareness.

Control readiness means understanding whether these practices exist, how consistently they are implemented, and whether the organization can reasonably verify its answers.

The business should be able to substantiate its answers.

Answer Based on What You Can Verify

Do not answer Yes simply because a control is believed to exist. If you cannot reasonably confirm its implementation or coverage, select Not Sure. This applies throughout the entire assessment.

Privacy

Do not enter policy numbers, insurance documents, passwords, API keys, confidential client information, protected health information, payment-card data, or other sensitive information. This assessment only asks about general cybersecurity-control practices. No account required. No information is stored or transmitted.

Results are informational and based on the answers provided. They are not a security audit, compliance certification, insurance determination, financial analysis, or guarantee of security outcomes. Carrier requirements vary.
