Small businesses can face enterprise-level exposure, without enterprise security.

Ransomware, phishing, account takeover, and business email compromise do not target only large organizations. Small and midsized businesses are frequently targeted precisely because they lack the security infrastructure of larger enterprises. Edge Secure changes that equation.

Threats We Address

The attacks most likely to affect your business

Ransomware

Encrypts your data and systems, demands payment. Recovery without proper backups is often impossible or extremely costly. Even with backups, downtime and forensic work can run for days.

Business Email Compromise (BEC)

Impersonates executives or vendors to redirect wire transfers, trick employees into sharing credentials, or approve fraudulent invoices. Losses depend on the transaction and response; verify payment changes through a trusted, separate channel.

Phishing and Credential Theft

Deceptive emails, SMS messages, or fake login pages harvest credentials. Once an attacker has a valid account, they can move through your environment quietly for weeks before being detected.

Account Takeover

Stolen or weak credentials used to access Microsoft 365, cloud services, banking portals, or internal systems. Without MFA enforcement, a single exposed password can compromise an entire account.

Unpatched Systems

Known vulnerabilities in operating systems, software, or network devices that attackers actively exploit. Many ransomware deployments begin with a publicly documented vulnerability that was never patched.

Insider Threats

Intentional or accidental actions by current or former employees. Unrevoked access after termination, misconfigured permissions, or employees sharing credentials create significant exposure.

What We Provide

Layered security, actively managed

Security tools that are deployed and left unmanaged provide limited protection. Each capability below is monitored, reviewed, and maintained as part of a coordinated security program.

Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)

Behavioral monitoring on every managed endpoint. Modern attacks are detected based on what they do, not just whether they match a known signature. Suspicious behavior (lateral movement, credential theft, process injection) is flagged and investigated in near real time.

Identity and Access Management

Multi-factor authentication enforcement, privileged access reviews, conditional access policies, and password hygiene improvements. Weak or stolen credentials create an attack path; identity controls are a foundational security layer.

Security Monitoring and SIEM Integration

Log aggregation and correlation across endpoints, cloud services, and network devices. A single alert in isolation may mean nothing; the same event combined with three other signals across your environment may indicate active compromise. We correlate and investigate.

Email Security and Phishing Protection

Advanced email filtering, link-time URL scanning, spoofing prevention (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and business email compromise (BEC) controls. Email is an important attack path that needs dedicated controls.

Vulnerability Management

Regular vulnerability scanning of external-facing systems, internal infrastructure, and web applications. Identified vulnerabilities are triaged by exploitability and business impact, not just CVSS score, and remediation is prioritized accordingly.

Security Awareness Training

Phishing simulation campaigns and role-based security training for employees. Social engineering can bypass technical defenses. Building employee awareness is a practical, measurable control that complements technical defenses.

Incident Response Planning

A documented incident response plan, tabletop exercises, and defined escalation procedures. Early containment, evidence preservation, and clear decision authority can limit damage. Having a plan, and having practiced it, makes a significant difference.

Backup Security and Recovery Validation

Ransomware operators may target backups as well as production data. We assess your backup architecture for offline copies, encryption, access controls, and test recovery procedures, so that a recovery is possible when it matters.

Microsoft 365 Security Hardening

Conditional access policies, Azure AD configuration, Teams and SharePoint data governance, Defender for Business integration, and secure email configuration. Microsoft 365 environments are frequently misconfigured and actively targeted.

Common Questions

Cybersecurity — Frequently Asked Questions

What You Receive

Security review

Assessment of your current controls, configurations, identity setup, email security, and monitoring coverage.

Endpoint-security management

EDR deployment and management across all managed devices. Behavioral detection, not signature-only.

Identity and access improvements

MFA enforcement, privileged access review, conditional access policies, and credential hygiene.

Email-security assistance

Advanced filtering, DMARC configuration, link scanning, and attachment sandboxing.

Monitoring and logging

Security event monitoring and audit logging, so events are captured before you need them for an investigation.

Vulnerability remediation planning

Identified vulnerabilities prioritized and tracked through to remediation.

Incident-preparation assistance

Incident response plan documentation, contact list, and tabletop exercise support.

Security reporting

Regular reporting on security posture, open vulnerabilities, and control status under managed agreements.

Available components depend on the selected scope and service agreement. Not all items are included in every plan.

How It Works

How a cybersecurity engagement begins

Cybersecurity services can be delivered as a project, an ongoing managed program, or as a component of a broader managed IT engagement. The process begins with a clear assessment of the current environment.

01

Security posture review

Assessment of endpoint coverage, identity controls, email security, logging, vulnerability exposure, and backup architecture.

02

Gap identification

Clear documentation of what controls are missing or misconfigured, prioritized by real-world exploitability and business impact.

03

Remediation roadmap

A prioritized list of improvements with timelines, cost estimates, and responsibility assignments.

04

Control implementation

Endpoint protection, MFA enforcement, email security configuration, and logging set up according to the agreed plan.

05

Monitoring activation

Security event monitoring and alerting activated. Incident response procedures documented.

06

Ongoing management

Continued monitoring, vulnerability reviews, reporting, and improvement planning under managed agreements.

What ongoing security monitoring means

Monitoring is not a dashboard that runs in the background. Under managed agreements, Edge Secure reviews security event logs, endpoint alerts, and behavioral signals on an ongoing basis. Suspicious activity is investigated, not queued for the next business day.

Reporting on security posture, open vulnerabilities, and control status is provided on a regular cadence so that business leadership can understand the organization's security position without technical expertise.

No monitoring program can guarantee that every threat will be detected. The goal is to significantly reduce dwell time and limit the damage of any incident that occurs.

Client responsibilities

Employee participation

Security awareness training is most effective when employees participate and complete assigned modules.

Incident reporting

Reporting suspicious emails, unexpected system behavior, and potential incidents promptly, as delays increase damage.

MFA and policy compliance

Following agreed MFA requirements, password policies, and acceptable-use guidelines for all employees.

Access decisions

Decisions about who has access to which systems and data remain with the client. Edge Secure implements and enforces the decisions.

Legal and regulatory obligations

Edge Secure addresses technical controls; clients are responsible for legal, administrative, and regulatory compliance in their industry.

Timely approvals

Responding promptly during active incidents or when change approvals are needed to continue remediation.

Request a Cybersecurity Risk Review

Ask about a review of your endpoints, identity controls, email, backups and monitoring coverage. This is an inquiry, not a completed assessment or confirmed appointment. Scope, availability and scheduling are confirmed after follow-up.
