Cybersecurity Risk Tools

Estimate a cyber incident scenario using your own business assumptions, review foundational security practices, and explore password-strength estimates. Results are educational estimates, not predictions.

Cyber Incident Financial Exposure Estimator

Model a rough scenario with your own assumptions. Educational estimate only, not a prediction or a quote. Inputs stay in this page and are not saved or sent.

Your Scenario

0–1,000,000 people; whole numbers only

0–100 %

0–8,760 hours

0–100,000 USD/hour

0–100 %

0–1,000,000,000,000 USD

1–8,784 hours/year

Scenario estimate

$50,038

Lost employee productivity
$13,500
Revenue interruption
$11,538
Response & recovery allowance
$25,000

Scenario limitations: Adding labor cost and gross revenue can double count the same interruption; the total is an additive planning scenario, not net economic loss. Gross margin, avoided costs, deferred sales recovered later and irreversible lost sales need separate financial review. Set a component to 0 if it overlaps another. The default 2,080 operating hours per year assumes a 40-hour, 52-week business schedule; edit annual operating hours for seasonal or 24/7 operations (up to 8,784 hours in a leap year). Revenue activity disrupted is not a gross-margin percentage. Review assumptions with your finance team before using this scenario for decisions.

How the estimate works: productivity = employees × workforce affected % × disruption hours × loaded hourly labor cost. Revenue interruption = annual revenue ÷ annual operating hours × disruption hours × revenue activity disrupted %. Response and recovery costs are your direct-cost allowance. Enter 0 to explicitly omit a component. This model excludes ransom, penalties, litigation, reputation and long-term customer losses.

Password Crack Time Visualizer

Password-strength estimates based on pattern analysis and modeled attack rates.

Time to Crack

zxcvbn evaluates common patterns such as dictionary words, substitutions, dates, and keyboard sequences, then estimates crack time under modeled attack rates.

Instant Security Risk Assessment

Answer 5 questions to get your A–F cybersecurity grade

1. Do you use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all critical accounts?

2. Do you have a 3-2-1 backup strategy?

3 copies of data, on 2 different media types, with 1 copy off-site or in the cloud

3. Do you have endpoint protection (EDR/antivirus) deployed on all devices?

4. How often do you conduct security awareness training for employees?

5. Do you have a documented incident response plan (IRP)?
